Antwerp-based design company Arte has released the first drop of its Fall/Winter 2023 clothing collection in an exploration of the early digital era. The line features minimalist design and limited color, implementing pixelated motifs that pay tribute to the origins of technology and its potential for creative innovation.
The digital era created a new landscape for connectivity that transcends physical boundaries of time and space. In celebration of this virtual unity, the FW23 collection blends the visual elements of modern art with early graphic design techniques, evoking nostalgia within contemporary silhouettes. In the line’s first drop, tactile material is introduced for cold weather with a quilted heart pattern applied to several pieces. The characteristically neutral Arte color palette is enriched with bright shades like electric blue, hot pink, and lime green.
Since its first experimental capsule tee shirt collection in 2009, Arte has created garments that demonstrate a fusion of artistic expression and subcultural impacts. Strongly emphasizing an exchange of concepts and ideas, the company matured over time into a cultivated creative house. Through delving into different art forms, ranging from modern architecture to music, it maintains relevancy by translating creative concepts into ready-to-wear collections.
